~*~ Finding a Path ~*~
Here's a small project; try this for a month.
You will need four main things: a 7 X 9 1/2 inch spiral notebook, a pen, a cardboard box that is big enough to hold a standard-size file folder, plain paper.
The notebook will be just the right size to carry with you everywhere and you can keep the pen stored in the spiral so you're always ready to write. This book is about what is going on right now.
Note the day's date every day and write down the things that make you happy, even if it only one thing in a day--if you don't write them right away, the moment fades. Some of these things will be small--motes of dust in a ray of sunshine, the first crispy bite of an apple, a child's smile, something kind someone says. Write down song lyrics that encourage you. Note the title of a book that makes you think; and if there's a sentence in the book that seems just right, quote it.
Be sure to write only write good things--you're storing up jewels that can become a treasure trove of encouragement that is created only for you, and you will be able to re-read this notebook on days when you need it most.
Next, the box needs to be cardboard so it's not see-through, it should be small enough to carry around, and it should be pretty or at least something that makes you smile. In this box, you will keep ideas, dreams, and hopes for the future.
If it's an idea for a business or a job, write it down. If it's for your home, your wardrobe, anything you'd like to reach for, write it down. Each sheet of paper can be for a different idea. Save news or magazine clippings that look like something you might like to do. You might like to save different subjects in file folders. Keep it simple and don't save everything; have an editing eye.
This box is something you will be able to mine over and over in the future because, again, you're storing up jewels; but this time they are to help you light the road ahead. Once you have a variety of information collected, you will see patterns emerging that will show what is is that is meant for only you to do. This is your journey, and it can be a beautiful one.
Yes, these simple ideas are things that most people do online these days. But I believe that some things need to be tangible, things that you can touch with your hands, that you create with your hands. Your heart remembers those more deeply.
Don't tell everyone what you are doing. When you keep some things as treasure secrets, they have much more power in your life; that is power that you can use to help you move forward.
