Patience Requires Practice

Small stuff just doesn't go right sometimes.
It all seems too big, too impossible.
The house is disorganized.
Business stuff is disorganized.
The ground in the garden is flooded again.
Learning new things is hard.
Internet connections aren't working.
Human connections aren't working.
And the new neighbor's dog threatens to bite.

That's when it's the most important to remember that the battle isn't lost or won over those things.  The battle isn't even ours.  The battle, and everything that goes with it, belongs to God.  He makes all things possible.  Our job is to believe and to pray and to wait and to do the very best we can at whatever small tasks are in front of us.   God does not require us to be successful; he merely wants us to be faithful.

And he arose, and rebuked the wind,
and said unto the sea,
Peace, be still.
And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 4:39

Sometimes we need simply to be still, to take a deep breath.  The one who has always been in charge is in charge always.  The great calm is there waiting.  Things will work out.
