Borrowing a Holiday
It's July 7, and that's Tanabata in Japan. The Star Festival. So I'm doing a little holiday borrowing, and I do it with respect because I'm sure no one would mind me enjoying the day in this way. Certainly it's good to celebrate something every day.
I've made an arrangement of bamboo that I collected from my neighbor's yard and placed it in a vase with glass marbles and decorated with a ribbon that a friend gave me. I made little tiny little star ornaments from some old buttons. And I made a small red envelope to hold my secret wish.
Maybe after dark I'll light some of the Sparklers that I keep hidden in the pantry, so I can wish upon a star.
Life is good. Every day.
Be joyful!
