Making a New Year's Resolution

I've made a New Year's resolution.
Just one New Year's resolution.
I'm not telling what it is
because, if I do,
I won't follow through.
But I can keep a secret,
so I'll do best to keep my resolution, too.

This morning's menu:

Tea with cream
Hot popovers fresh from the oven,
slathered with butter

What a great way to
start 2016!

And I'll be making Hoppin' John for good luck.
As every Mississippian knows, you just can't start the New Year without
black-eyed peas, turnip greens, and cornbread.

Wishing everyone a very blessed
and very Happy New Year!

And the song that is in my heart today, the first song that I am listening to this year, my hope and my wish:

Arashi's Bokura ga Tsunaideiku

We can hear noise far in the distance
Feeling it, we'll walk to the future We’re walking on the road
“We're being connected together”
On the same road

Me being alive now will connect to someone else's wish
I reflect on the coincidence that we met and what it means now

I've always been hearing a gentle lullaby
Words of life that won't ever vanish

The eras change and time passes
Even if we chase after a different tomorrow
We'll surely come back to this road again someday
We're always as one We’re walking on the road
“We're being connected together”
On the wind

Our dreams were connected by many different paths
Someday they'll let off the light of hope
We can hear noise far in the distance
Feeling it, we'll walk to the future We’re walking on the road

The eras change and time passes
Even if we chase after a different tomorrow
We'll surely come back to this road again someday
We're always as one We’re walking on the road
“We're being connected together”

On the same road…
